5 Crafts to Do with Wholesale Bandanas

Whether you are a crafting guru or you are looking for a fun and easy way to kill an afternoon, there are a lot of great projects out there to tackle. When you want to try something a bit out of the ordinary, blank bandanas make perfect craft supplies. From simple, no-sew projects to more complex things that will put all of your crafting knowledge and ability to the test, there are options for all skills. Here are a few of our favorite crafts to do with wholesale bandanas.

Bracelets

With a bandana or two and a few other basic supplies (aquarium tubing, lollipop sticks and hot glue), you can create fun and fashionable bracelets. Start by tearing the bandana(s) into 1-inch strips and removing any loose strings. Measure the wrist of the person who will be wearing the bracelet and cut the aquarium tubing to the correct length. Make sure to make it big enough to slip over the hand.

Cut a lollipop stick into small pieces. Put a bit of hot glue in one end of the tubing and insert a piece of the lollipop stick. Add a drop of glue to the other end of the tube and insert the other end of the stick to form a circle.

Put a drop of glue on the bracelet to secure one end of a strip of fabric. Next, start wrapping the fabric around the bracelet. If you run out of fabric, add another strip, making sure to secure the end with hot glue. When you reach the end, overlap the fabric slightly and secure with another dot of glue. Finally, trim away excess material.

Tablecloth

A bandana tablecloth creates a colorful, casual look, and making one yourself requires only basic sewing skills. According to a tutorial from Martha Stewart, this project only requires prewashed bandanas, a tape measure, pins, thread, a sewing pencil, scissors and a sewing machine.

You can use bandanas that are all the same color for a cohesive look, or you can use several different colors for a more eclectic look. You can also use the same tutorial to create a table runner or even placemats if you prefer.

Book Covers

Ditch the paper bag book covers and cover your books using bandanas. This no-sew project is perfect for beginners, and it only takes a few minutes to give textbooks a fresh new look. You just need bandanas, scissors, a pencil and fabric tape.

Lay your book on a bandana, leaving about three inches of material at the top. Measure and cut so that there are three inches of fabric at the bottom, too. If your book is too large to be covered in a single bandana, use fabric tape to stick multiples together. Fold the sides of the fabric in to determine the size of the cover. Mark the fold lines using a pencil.

Wrap the fabric around the book and then mark the fold lines at each end with a pencil. Apply tape to adhere the folds. This should form pockets on either end. Insert the front and back covers into the pockets. If desired, create a pocket using extra fabric and stick to the book cover.

Dog Bandanas

Give Fido a fresh look by using wholesale bandanas to make fashionable accessories for your four-legged friend. Depending on how large your dog is, you may be able to simply fold the bandana corner to corner to form a triangular shape and then tie a knot around your pup’s neck.

There are also plenty of tutorials that will teach you how to make custom bandanas that will slip right over your pet’s collar. You can stitch them up by hand, or you can make them in minutes using a basic sewing machine.
